[ look, he's been gone three weeks and she's been bored. this isn't a date date, just something she did to avoid being told to do something else. because she didn't want to arouse suspicion or be connected to yet another name she probably shouldn't.

Listening to you has never bored me before. [No one finds ways to trip over their own words quite the way Felicity does. And, if they're honest, her dating history? He doesn't think she's actually succeeded at going on a date with a normal, boring guy before. If he seems normal, he's probably just hiding something.]

[ she snorts at the message, completely unladylike, prompting the man she's with to ask what has her attention. she explains that her absolutely unruly boss is a bit controlling and has no manners at all. ]

[Is he dropping everything now to actually go and physically bail her out in a completely over the top and unnecessarily dramatic way? Yes. Hell yes.]

That so? [The moment Felicity's phone chimes with his message is the same moment Erik comes crashing in through a window, as promised, wearing the horned mask.]

[As he lands on his feet, he pauses for dramatic effect. Totally not that he's giving Felicity's date outfit a once over, not that anyone could tell, with the mask and all.]

Felicity Smoak. You're coming with me. [His gun is casually pointed in her date's direction, finger off the trigger – he wants to see what the guy's made of, if he's really as milquetoast as Felicity made him out to be, if he'll dive under the table, or if, like every other guy Felicity's gone on a date with before, there's more to him than there seems.]

[ felicity's fingers are poised to answer with another smart ass quip as she's only half paying attention to whatever brent-- brandt-- brad--? is saying, hand under the table as her thumbs fly over the keys on her phone. instead, she looks as quickly as everyone else does, disbelief more than shock appearing on her face.

she didn't think he'd actually do it. as for reactions? brent-brandt-brad has zero intentions of replacing his khakis to impress felicity, so he's hiding behind his chair before erik's the man in the mask is finished speaking.

in an attempt to make it look as if she's not going willingly, felicity slides out of her chair slowly, her skirt smoothing down her thighs as she takes in the mask. honestly, so dramatic. ]
